Delhi riots is a shame, the more you read and think about the more frustrated and helpless you feel. Not much to say on the behavior of the central government, it is within their party’s grand design and project. What is more concerning is how other institutions have failed, failed the people.
This is the time to heed to one of Ambedkar’s warning on Indian Democracy, “…there are limits to gratefulness. As has been well said by the Irish patriot Daniel O’Connell, no man can be grateful at the cost of his honour, no women can be grateful at the cost of her chastity and no nation can be grateful at the cost of its liberty…This caution is far more necessary in the case of India than in the case of any other country. For in India, Bhakti or what may be called the path of devotion or hero-worship, plays a part in its politics unequalled in magnitude by the part it plays in the politics of any other country in the world. Bhakti in religion may be a road to the salvation of the soul. But in politics, Bhakti or hero-worship is a sure road to degradation and to eventual dictatorship.” India experienced v1.0 four decades back. Get the feel we are marching towards v2.0.
What came unexpected is the behavior of Delhi government. With 62 MLAs, Kejriwal and his team could have done a lot to stem the riots in the beginning itself. I can go on and on writing about what they could or should have done. What stopped them from acting? We can only guess. As a concerned citizen, would like to share the following MLK quote to Kejriwal and his team.

“In the End
We will Remember
Not the Words of Our Enemies
But the Silence of Our Friends”
Don’t want to end on a sad note. Again, as MLK mentioned,
“We must accept finite disappointment
but never lose infinite hope
