Not sure whether this can be bucketed as item number in today’s parlance – since the dance movements are superbly done and no vulgar suggestive movements or gyrations. Ilayaraja has arranged the vocals are in staccato format giving him room to play around with his creativity between the vocals not just in interludes between stanzas. No need of cocktails, SPB’s and Janaki’s voice takes us to stratosphere. Choreography and shot movements go along with Ilayaraja’s music beats. Fantastic dance performance from Kamal and Madhavi.
